Catherine Dremluk

Catherine Dremluk grew up in Washington, D.C., and currently dwells in Miami, Florida. She is a joint degree student pursuing a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and an M.P.S. from the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. Catherine earned her B.S. in Marine and Atmospheric Science from the University of Miami, where she wrote her honors thesis on the impacts of ocean acidification on a keystone coral species. She has also led several marine conservation initiatives throughout South Florida and the Galapagos Islands. Catherine ultimately chose to pursue a law degree to use her legal expertise and science background to implement and enforce environmental laws that protect our environment and public wellbeing. In Miami Law�s Environmental Justice Clinic, Catherine develops community-based policy solutions to advance a just transition to a clean energy economy and enhance equitable access to weatherization assistance programs in South Florida. Working with local governments, research institutions, and community working groups has provided Catherine with insights into the complexities of climate justice advocacy in �ground zero� of the climate crisis. Catherine seeks to continue her legal advocacy for the environment and populations facing the harshest impacts of environmental degradation and climate change.
