In 2020, the Energy & Environment Program re-framed its work around the greatest challenge of our time -- solving the climate crisis. We are in the midst of the 6th great extinction of our planet’s 4.5-billion-year history and the urgency of the challenge ahead of us demands immediate and immense action. The impacts of a warming planet will affect every one of us in some way, from posing risks to drinking water and food sources, to increased hurricanes, fires, droughts, and floods, to health impacts from the warmer temperatures and poor air quality.

 

In light of this crisis, our program launched the Future Leaders Climate Initiative in 2020 aimed at empowering and harnessing the young voices that will shape climate conversations going forward.
