Sebastian Duque Rios
Student (and part-time intern at EPA)
Sebastian Duque is a senior at Yale College majoring in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Miami, FL. He is passionate about environmental justice and focuses his studies on equity in environmental law and policy. He completed his undergraduate thesis for environmental studies in December, in which he analyzed the impacts of several "green" projects in Colombia from a justice perspective. He is a fellow at the Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS) and the Council of Latin American and Iberian Studies (CLAIS). Sebastian currently serves as an Executive Chair of and has previously served as the co-President of the Yale Student Environmental Coalition (YSEC); he was a part of this year's YSEC COP28 delegation, where he was a speaker at the Higher Education Pavillion. Outside of YSEC, he has been with the Yale College Council as their Sustainability Policy co-Director, volunteered with the Yale Interpretation Network, and worked for the Yale Sustainable Food Program as a farm manager.
